Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how HAPPYGLOBAL LLC ("FableNow", "we", "us"), the operator of fablenow.com, collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our service to create personalized children's storybooks and video greetings. We act as the data controller. We comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
Information We Collect
- Account data: your email address (and, for Apple private-relay users, an optional real contact email).
- Order content you provide: the child's first name, age, photos, and the story details you enter to personalize the book.
- Delivery data (printed books): recipient name, postal address, and phone number.
- Payment data: processed by Stripe; we receive confirmation and the last digits / brand of your card, but never your full card number.
- Technical & usage data: IP address, browser/user-agent, approximate country (from your IP via Cloudflare), pages viewed, and device type.
- Assistant and support data: messages you send to the FableNow assistant, its replies, the page and product context needed to answer, and any support follow-up you request.
- Marketing attribution & cookies: UTM parameters, referral codes, and advertising identifiers (such as the Meta _fbp / _fbc cookies). See our Cookie Policy.
How We Use Your Data
- To generate, deliver, and print your personalized Products.
- To create your account, authenticate you, and provide customer support.
- To answer product, delivery, order, and book-selection questions; remember the context of your conversation; route unresolved questions to our support team; and identify recurring service problems.
- To process payments and send transactional emails/SMS (login codes, order and payment confirmations, "your book is ready").
- To measure and improve our service and to run and attribute our advertising.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to comply with legal obligations.
Legal Bases (GDPR)
We process your data on the basis of: performance of a contract (creating and delivering your Order); consent (non-essential cookies and advertising; you may withdraw it at any time); legitimate interests (securing our service, preventing fraud, basic analytics); and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).
Photos & Children's Data
Photos you upload are used solely to generate the character illustrations for your Product. They are not used to train public AI models and are automatically deleted within 90 days. Our service creates books FOR children but is purchased and operated BY adults; we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. By uploading a photo of a child, you confirm you are the parent or guardian, or have their consent.
FableNow Assistant
The FableNow assistant may use your current page, selected product, approximate country, language, and current prices to answer questions. If you are signed in, it may also retrieve a limited summary of your own books, orders, and delivery status. It is not permitted to access or disclose another customer's information. We store assistant conversations so the service can keep context, complete requested support follow-ups, prevent abuse, and help us understand recurring product and support issues. Please do not send unnecessary sensitive information in chat.
Sharing & Service Providers
We never sell your personal data. To operate the service, we may share the minimum data necessary with carefully selected third-party providers who act on our behalf, under contract, and only for the specific purposes below — never for their own marketing:
- Payment processing — to take payment securely and help prevent fraud. We never store your full card number.
- AI technology providers — to generate the text and illustrations of your personalized book from the details you submit. Depending on availability, language, and quality, this may include leading AI services such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google (Gemini), Mistral, and comparable providers. They process your input solely to produce your Order and not for their own purposes.
- Printing & fulfilment partners — we produce and ship printed books through professional printing houses and fulfilment partners with whom we hold partnership agreements; they receive only the recipient and delivery details required to print and deliver your Order.
- Email & messaging providers — to send transactional messages (login codes, confirmations, and "your book is ready" notifications).
- Hosting, infrastructure & security providers — to run, deliver, and protect the Website.
- Advertising & analytics partners — where you have consented, to measure the performance of our campaigns and to show our advertising to you or to people similar to you on those platforms (for example, Meta and Google). For this we may share hashed identifiers (such as a hashed email address) that the platform matches against its own users; we never share your photos, your child's details or the contents of your books. You can withdraw this consent at any time in Profile → Account ("Personalized ads") or in the cookie settings, and we then remove you from these audiences at the next scheduled sync
- Legal & safety — to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights and prevent fraud or abuse.
We require every provider to safeguard your data and to use it only for the purposes we specify.
International Transfers
We are based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the US and other countries. Where data is transferred out of the EEA/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Data Retention
Uploaded photos are deleted within 90 days. Your account, orders, books, and assistant conversations are kept while your account is active or as needed to provide the service and support; you can delete your stories, characters, or entire account at any time from your profile. Guest assistant conversations are linked to a pseudonymous browser identifier rather than an account. We retain payment and tax records for as long as required by law.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. California residents have the right to know, delete, and opt out of "sharing" of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any right, email [email protected] or use the deletion tools in your profile. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Account Deletion
You can permanently delete your account and all associated personal data at any time, directly in the app — no email or support request is required. Go to Profile → Account, choose Delete account, and type DELETE to confirm. This permanently removes your account, your stories and characters, and your personal data from our active systems; uploaded photos are deleted within 90 days, and we retain only the minimal payment and tax records required by law.
Cookies
We use essential cookies (to keep you signed in, remember your language and currency, and attribute referrals) and, with your consent, analytics/advertising cookies (the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics/Ads tags). You can accept or decline non-essential cookies via our cookie banner, and change your choice at any time. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS), access controls limited to authorized personnel, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard measures.
Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time; the current version is always posted here, and material changes will be communicated by email or a prominent notice on the Website.
